Oil on Canvas / 16x20 / “June One Six Seven One”
I worked on this piece for about 12+ hours. It could easily be considered an underpainting. There are many things I would like to do to this piece to polish after further examination - but then - the thought of leaving it in this raw, unfinished state was more appealing. That, and the fact that I want to move on to my next piece. A little painterly ADD setting in. I am not sure what brought me into my studio on this day. All I know is that when I sat down to paint this image of Tupac I was very inspired. It took me back to a time in college when that’s all I would listen to. It also reminded me of one of my closest friends, Kristy, whom shared the love for Pac that has yet to be matched by any of my friends post college.
